Anyone here struggle with time??? Or lets say this, does anyone get
frustrated with their use of time? Well I know this something that is always on our minds and
thoughts, so we're going to take a look at it tonight. School time, Family time, Friend time, independent time, fun
time, sleep time, exercise time, sport time, club time, volunteer time, God
time What is God time? Two ways to look at what God time is...Personal time and
general productive time for God's Kingdom. First in order to maximize your time for God you have to
understand what the difference is between holy ambitions and unholy
ambitions. Ambition 1 a: an ardent desire for rank, fame, or power b: desire to achieve a particular end Holy ambition -Selfless ardent desire and joy in fighting for justice and
salvation through Jesus Christ and the power of the kingdom of God.
Unholy ambition -Selfish ardent desire for rank, fame, or power in your own
kingdom
- God
time would be Holy ambition in serving him, physically and/or in heart.
Prayer, Reading the Bible, fasting,
volunteering, sharing God's Love, steadily seeking Him. How do we find it? Who's to say where and what God time is? Would CFC better serve Christ by meeting everyday, or never
meeting and staying out in the world? What does maximizing our time for God look like?
Mike-----Luke 10: 38-42---Martha
and Mary Not always doing projects and things, but spending time with
Him, getting to know Him. Andy----Mathew
7:21-23 Knowing Christ is first essential
How can we claim something as God time if we don't know who
God is? Productive for God "Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too
weak. We are half hearted creatures
fooling around with drink, sex, and ambition; when infinite joy is offered to
us. Like a an ignorant child who wants
to go on making mud pies in the slum because he can't imagine what is meant by
an offer of a holiday at the sea. We are
far too easily pleased." -C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
"Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to
me has really served to advance the gospel.
As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and
to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. Because of my chains, most of the brothers in
the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and
fearlessly. What has happened to me
will turn out for my deliverance. I
eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have
sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body,
whether by life or by death. For to me,
to live is Christ and to die is gain."
Philippians 1:12-14,19-21 "Paul has learned to view his life through one lens, the
lens of the father's business." -Pastor Skip Heitzeg
Christ Himself woke up early to read and pray (Mark
1:35). This is the essential piece in a
Christian walk. Continuously setting
time aside solely for growing closer to God.
However: The idea is that every time should be God time!
