The Commuter Lounge
Early in 2002, members of the Commuter Council proposed to University administration that there be a lounge designed to meet the needs of commuters somewhere on campus. By the end of the Spring 2003 semester, the lower level of Conyngham Hall had been transformed from storage space into a comfortable lounge area for commuters. Commuter COuncil raised over $1200 to help furnish the lounge. The Commuter lounge is located in the basement of Conyngham Hall and is open to all commuters. Here commuters can find all of their needs satisfied. The Commuter Lounge provides commuters with a place to relax, study, meet other commuters, and participate in a wide variety of activities at their leisure. Students are invited to use the lounge between classes and utilize the services it provides, such as a kitchen, TV room, and computer room. The Commuter Lounge serves as the location for a Commuter Council lock-in once per semester as well as socials once a month that provide commuters with lunch and time to hang out with other members of the Wilkes community. We encourage you to stay on campus and make the Commuter Lounge one of your daily stops!
The Commuter Lounge is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
