New Business

1) Cycling Club (1st Reading): The goal of the cycling club is to promote cycling, bring riders together, to race, and to have fun. 28 students signed up on Club Day, with 8-10 interested in competitive racing. The club would become nationally recognized by several national and collegiate associations. In addition to competitive racing, they would also participate in charity rides. Races usually take place between March and September. During that period there are races almost every weekend. They plan on fundraising to help defer costs of the races.
2) Deirdre Kennedy: Sodexho is having a Thanksgiving dinner on Monday night. They are also doing satisfaction surveys this week. They would appreciate detail when the surveys are filled out, so if you want more variety please specify in what area. Concerns were brought up about the Silver meal plans going down during the weekends. Sodexho is trying to work out the problem. A question was brought up about the Rifkin Café being open later. The hours of operation depend on participation by students. A new beverage station will definitely be installed by January, but hopefully by the end of the semester. There was also a comment on the lack of food on Saturday nights. Deirdre mentioned that there was an idea of doing more traditional meals on Saturday nights (similar to Thanksgiving), instead of having every station open. Prices in the Rifkin were brought up again, with the opinion that they are not reasonable. Sodexho also has a cereal container that will hold 15 different cereals, and they are just waiting for it to be delivered.
3) Programming Board Purchasing Request: Programming Board is thinking about purchasing an item for the Student Center, and would be taking the money from the concert budget. As a courtesy they are making us aware of the purchase. They are looking into buying a 6 foot long scrolling electric board. It will be either 2 feet or 4 feet high. WUPB would be able to program the events into the board, and this would hopefully cut down on the amount of posters in the building. The cost is approximately $6200, plus installation. The general consensus from general board was that it is a good idea.

Old Business

1) Bookstore Request: There were a few professors who were upset/offended that students asked them to fill out the forms. Other professors were just waiting on responses from the companies. We will be extending the deadline to the next meeting.
2) Christmas Parade: The parade was a success and there was good participation from SG. Good job Eric!! 3) Kings vs Wilkes Game: Home playoff will be this Saturday, Nov 22nd at noon. Since these are playoffs, students will be charged admission. There is a possibility of SG being able to cover the cost. Liz made a motion to pay for admission of the first 300 Wilkes students with IDs. Elise seconded. Motion passed 20-2-0.
