New Business

1. Dr. Sullivan: He made a visit to talk with us about the Internet situation. It should be up and running by next Monday but we can≠t expect to see improvement until next Wednesday and even then it may not be fully operational. It will then take a few more weeks to proportion the bandwidth traffic. Instant Messenger and some files should still be ok to use. The new company we went with is local and small but reliable, it≠s Digital Freedom.
2. Dr. Loeschke: She is the new Provost leader. She wants nothing more then to hear our concerns and feedback and she will do her best to meet the concerns of the students. She is trying to get a plan in action that we will split up into two colleges. On January 13th they will start their internal search for two Deans, which is if it is passed. As for the CC Lounge proposal, it is a good idea but where is the problem. The Deans know that we need one but it≠s just the location that needs to be figured out.
3. Barryweb Proposal: Do we want to invest in the Barryweb? It≠s $1200 a year, which is a really good deal, and it will make elections and voting and surveys a lot easier. Jeff made a motion for a one-year trail period and we will see how it goes and giving up the $1200 from Special Projects Fund. Brian seconds the motion. Took a vote and the motion passed 32-0-0.
4. On-line Face Books: We would just be adding our pictures to the email and name already set up. It wouldn≠t cost anything but work-study. You would just put in a first or last name and you would have picture to look through. We are giving it the GO and it should work out well.
5. Freshman Directory: Name, hobbies, and major, email. It would be $20 a book but we wouldn≠t do much work probably none. We would need about 600 booksÓWE STICK WITH ONLINE FOR NOW!!
6. Credit Union: Support our old plan and get rid of the Credit Union and put the ping pong tables and pool tables back where it is.
7. SG member of the Month: Nominations: Kelly, Liz/Amanda (joint effort), and Mallory WINNERS ARE LIZ AND AMANDA CONGRATS!!
